This agency has made repeated policy mis-quotes on our two auto policies. Then when you receive your bill from State Farm corporate, it's significantly higher than what was ever quoted. Then I inquired regarding the billing issues with Beth's staff. I was assured over and over and over by Nick, Andrew and another female staff member that their verbal quotes are unequivocally correct and NOT to pay ANY statement amount sent to us from State Farm corporate billing. So we paid our "fixed" policy amounts based on a final call and verbal confirmation from Beth's office. Then roughly a week and a half later, we received two past due dollar amount statements for each auto policy that add up to be significantly higher. Then I called Beth's office once again on 04/21/25. I speak with Nick, tell him that we will not be paying these bills in the amount for the difference. All based on legal binding verbal contracts initiated and substantiated by Beth's office staff.
In addition to myself verbally agreeing to what was offered in these two verbal contracts. These two significant errors have engulfed a large portion of my time, patience and confidence in State Farm. These are both significant contract binding mistakes that fall directly on Beth Shutko's office and State Farm. After adamant and persistent contact with Beth Shutko's office, namely Nick, he informed me that our PIP option on both policies in their office records did not match the PIP records at State Farm corporate. This has been wrong and incorrect for THREE years. Beth's office was quoting our policies based on waved PIP coverage for health/injury stating that my employer gave Qualified Health Coverage and would cover auto accidents health/injury. Beth's office NEVER caught this after THREE years of the "mistake" being on the books! I stated to Nick that our expectation is that Beth Shutko's agency, his employer, will have to eat the cost. Write it off, make an accounting adjustment, take it out of her commission or write a check or something. Last straw was when I was unavailable today to speak with Beth. So my spouse whom is well versed with all that has transpired, was saddled with the task of speaking with Beth. Beth was calm, professional and civil while speaking to my spouse. She was fervently trying to explain things away and insistent that we would have to pay the amount differences based on their mistake. My spouse repeated several times that we will not be paying one more dime for this policy period for both vehicles. We are holding her agency to their word, with extreme confidence and weight on the significant Error and Ommission. Our next options are in motion with State Farm leadership, Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services and the BBB. I'd also like to mention that we have never had any claims with her office and this is how we are treated. Additionally, I'd like to mention that we have had billing issues in the past with this office AND every single 6 month renewal has a noticeable jump in premiums. Not just a few bucks, and of course never goes down. We have had State Farm insurance for decades and decades. They could eat their mistake, but "nicely" refuse to. Come on Beth, own your mistakes, buck up and eat the cost. Our decades of longevity State Farm customers is in jeopardy. This office does get a bounty of Google star reviews in their favor. The above experience is mine and the absolute truth. Here i'm trying to save a few bucks, but their President & CEO - Jon Farney makes $24.5 Million per year. How about dipping into his petty cash fund to help us out? He is one member of their leadership and board member team. All of them make way too much money while we struggle to pay their damn premiums. I would also like to mention that we both have zero tickets and zero accidents and we still pay ridiculous rates. When does it stop? All of these corporations keep squeezing us and squeezing us. The greed is unprecedented.
